Minutes from Downtown San Diego, lies the neighborhood of Pacific Beach, a coastal sanctuary for the young at heart. Bounded by La Jolla to the north, Mission Beach to the south and Mission Bay to the south/east, what locals call “PB” is filled with stunning ocean views, clean beaches, and the iconic Crystal Pier. It is known by local residents, as home to one of San Diego’s more developed nightlife scenes, with a great variety of bars, eateries, and clothing stores.
By day, most Pacific Beach locals stroll, bike, run, or rollerblade the sunny 3.2 mile Mission Beach boardwalk that takes you all the way down to Mission Beach’s famous roller coaster. Or take in the marine life at Sea World located just south of Mission Bay. If you enjoy water sports like kayaking, sailing, or surfing, PB has exactly what you’re looking for.
Most of the area is a residential blend of apartment buildings and single-family homes. North of Garnet Street is considered North Pacific Beach, which consists of mostly affluent single-family homes. Closer to the beach you can find apartment buildings and luxury homes.
Regardless if you are 24, 44, or 64, there’s always something exciting to do in PB for the young at heart.
